Bio

Giacomo Arrigoni (1983) is an Italian writer-director member AIR3 – Directors Guild Italia and WGI – Writers Guild Italia.

In the last 14 years as an author and filmmaker, he has worked in Italy, Germany, France, Great Britain, Spain, Portugal, Greece and in the US.
With his short and feature films, he got more than 40 awards in international film festivals, including a screening at the Chamber of Deputies in Rome, a Best Feature film in Miami and Houston, a nomination for an Italian Golden Globe and a selection in a special section of the Silver Ribbons Awards (Nastro d’Argento) with Into the Gloom, a short film about violence against women.

SONY, NETFLIX, Discovery Italia, Iervolino Entertainment, Paradox Studios, Mondadori, Google, Microsoft, Fox Crime, Vodafone, Red Bull, Swatch and Adidas.

As a scriptwriter, he has been chosen to co-write State of Consciousness (2021), a psychological thriller with Emile Hirsch, directed by Markus Stokes and produced by Paradox Studios and Iervolino Entertainment.

His TV series projects have been selected at SerienCamp in Munich, at Série Series in Paris, at the Raindance Film Festival in London and at the Maison des Scènaristes of the Cannes Film Festival.

In 2020, he directed the documentaries Spicy Calabria, presented at the Rome MIA Market in the selection Italians Doc It Better, and  Resilient Warriors: Jose Antonio, about the revolution of syntropic farming in Brasil. The documentary got a Merit Award at the Awareness Film Fest and several international official selections.

In 2017 his web series #Goldfish, about the relationship between teenagers and social networks, produced by Discovery Italia, has been presented at the Giffoni Film Festival. The series has been aired on Italian TV channel 9 and is available on Discovery’s digital platform DPlay.

His first feature film The Rule of Lead (2014) won several international awards and is available around the world on Amazon Prime Video, iTunes and Vimeo on Demand.

He writes scripts in English and Italian for TV series, web series and feature films. He has a penchant for supernatural thrillers, ensemble dramas and coming-of-age teenage stories.
